I created the AACA website with functionality in mind; my goal was to organize the navigation so that any user could find what he was looking for in three to five clicks.
I also wanted the AACA website to be usable by everyone, yet visual enough to be appreciated as artistic. The marketing goals were to not only promote the message of unity that AACA was trying to get across, but to promote La Crosse Wisconsin as well as a great place to live.
I started by designing an XHTML/CSS driven website with graphics that featured not only African Americans, but every race that resides in the La Crosse area. This strengthened the message that AACA exists without racism, sexism, or ageism and is design to help families and individuals of the La Crosse area achieve a better life.
I wanted the website to be about people and getting to know the families that reside here. I designed a section on the La Crosse heritage to feature events like the La Crosse Oktoberfest, celebrating our German heritage, Juneteenth which is celebrated by African Americans, and many others as well.
"Culture, Community, and Unity" are the underlying factors of the overall goal of "Unifying the La Crosse Area" My goal is to make a Marketing message that will inform and educate the public. Create a striking graphics package that will excite and intrigue the people that see it. Then house everything together in a website that will be both functional and informative.
Great things start in the smallest of packages, then blossom out to touch the world.

The AACA website is currently on stage 1 out of 5 and is currently ofline. As soon as stage 1 is complete I will offer a link to the live site.
