Western Technical College came to Interact Communication in need of various forms of graphic design work. I have displayed a couple covers that I thought were nice from a few different standpoints. The 2007 Spring Degree Schedule was a fun project involving a simple design with striking colors. I remember not finding a photo that I liked so I ended up creating my own with Adobe Photoshop, that gave me the perfect opportunity to get the look that I actually wanted. A faded bar showed enough of the girl's head to be stylish but at the same time allowed the text to remain readable. Nothing is worse that unreadable text.
The 2007 Lifelong Learning cover featured one of my photos; I felt it symbolized spring well. Again a simple right-to-the-point design with a faded circled arch that zeroed in on the photo.
A great experience, I always find that covers are a welcome diversion from the bigger projects.
