The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration came to Interact Communications in need of an updated look, which would introduce young women to the faith. Their marketing department came up with a negative/positive statement designed to make a person think about their ethical responsibility to the world and everyone that lives within it. The end result was a long-term four-part strategy that would take part over four years. I came up with all four designs at one time so I could use the elements from each in order to provide a unified look.
The first I am displaying was the "It's not my Problem/It's my Problem" theme involving a young girl from Africa holding a bottle of dirty water and a bottle of clean water. It was a great set of pictures that were taken in Africa and sent over to us to be worked with. A little Photoshop and the end result was a striking design that went on to be used throughout the year in many forms of FSPA marketing communications.
The second piece that I am showing was the "WAN2TLK?" theme, involving a cell phone message from FSPA to their target market. Extensive Photoshop manipulation was required to make this piece a success. After a photo shoot with the nuns holding a cell phone I created a new display screen to replace the original, by doing do I was able to control every element of the design.
I went with a pink theme to match the FSPA rose logo and a faded display of the other four designs to decorate the back. I left the water girl in full color for effect.
In the end this project was both a moving and beautiful experience.
