Adobe Illustrator Inner Page Concept
The Green Turtle Illustration Inner Page Concept was created using Adobe Illustrator. The objective was to create a page taken from a children's educational magazine. It shows a green sea turtle swimming in his element, a detailed look at a turtle's skeleton, and the turtles neck muscle.
It was a challenge to find the right documentation, which would allow me to capture the turtle's bones in detail. But the end results were favorable, although I needed to take artistic liberty in the shading of the bones to add a dynamic effect.
A reference for the neck muscle was a bit trickier; all I could find for a visual was a cartooned illustration. The end result looked realistic; ribbons of muscle fiber wrapped around the turtle's neck bone.
Adding a "swoosh" in the background gave symbolic motion of the underwater current without distracting from the main subject matter.
