I worked on the AB Budweiser Catalog when I was helping out Ovation Marketing of La Crosse Wisconsin with a couple projects during the time they coined as the "log roll", in other words many large projects within a limited timeframe with limited personnel. My role was to help the photographic department to prepare files to go into Adobe InDesign. This included digitally masking items from the photos, changing colors of clothing, and sporting equipment. Updating objects with a companies current branding, making sure that logos and trademarks were digitally manipulated to look flawless.
The piece I am highlighting is from the Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser catalog; in particular the Peels AD inside of a set of lanterns. Quite often a company would have different branding that we would have to update to keep in fashion of their current branding. In this case Peels sent us a few colored lines and I was to make a white set of paper lanterns look like the Peels product. The actual product wasn't going to be available till after the catalog was out, but Peels still wanted it advertized in the catalog.
Using the masking tool to cut out the image of the white lanterns that the Ovation photography department took; I created masking strips to simulate the bans of colors needed for the final image. I used the hue/saturation tool in Photoshop to replicate the colors from the color swatches Peels gave us.
Peels loved the end result, and the new Peels lanterns looked sharp in the Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser catalog.
